Consider the impact that words have on your emotional state. Since you think a word before you say it, you have an internal experience of each word you say. The word “yes” needs to be thought and spoken often because it activates positive power.

Life is set up to help you grow and saying “yes” does far more than affirm your position. “Yes” is the activation that gets your “mojo” working. Say “yes” and you can almost feel the forward movement. YES opens the doors that fear slammed shut, while building momentum in a positive direction. When you learn to live in YES, you live from your heart in concert with the greater movement of life itself. With YES you learn to accept what is, and open to what could be.

What are you saying “yes” to right now?
What thoughts are you thinking?
What emotions are you experiencing?
Are you saying “yes” to yourself?

There are tremendous benefits to living in YES. The most important one being, that, in YES, life itself becomes your teacher. You live in an Affirmative Universe where you enthusiastically do the work you are here to do. YES guides you to open your heart and expand your mind, so that when you say “yes” to life, life says “yes” to you.

Our ancient ancestors trusted it. Native peoples revere it. The mysterious gift has always been with us, closer than breath and deeper than thought. But today, we often turn a cold shoulder.

I am talking about intuitive knowing, the inborn ability to have hunches, gut-feelings, inner warnings, lucky instincts, presentiments of the future, and senses beyond the five senses. Intuitive knowing shows the way when logic sees no way. The guidance we receive is life-giving and sometimes life-saving, especially in times of change when old rules no longer apply.

How do you receive your own intuitions? For some of us, the body is our main channel. A friend recently told me: “When I was invited to go away for the weekend, my stomach suddenly clutched into a knot. I wanted to go, but a terrible sick feeling came over me. I’m glad I stayed in town, because the next day, my teenager broke his arm.” People who are specially attuned to visceral feelings can learn to scan the body for intuitive signals. Others are more adept at getting cues from vision, hearing, or touch. Dreams often provide important messages.

Intuitive knowing also is kindled by outside events. Have you ever turned on the radio and heard a song that connected meaningfully with your thoughts at that moment? Did you ever receive a “sign” that gave you an answer, or have you opened a book at random and read words that seemed written just for you? Since the intuitive mind webs together outward and inward events, it often uses everyday experiences to deliver its messages.

In future blogs, we will explore ways to connect with intuitive knowing, including direct body experience; communications through vision, hearing, and touch; dreams and daydreams; signs, oracles, and wonders; rapport with animals and nature; psychic practices; and creative inspiration. We will share experiences of how this special kind of knowing has guided our personal lives. The intuitive gifts of our ancestors have not faded with time. They are alive and well just below the threshold of consciousness, warmly awaiting our return.

Within chaos, opportunities abound. It’s tough times that truly define a person and this is certainly true in today’s business world.

You have two choices. You can choose to allow current circumstances to obstruct the possibility of ‘who you can be tomorrow;’ or you can choose to recognize and respond positively to the opportunities that exist even in the midst of turmoil. Our tomorrow rises out of the decisions, actions, and thoughts we have today. For it is the internal work we do that manifests our future. So, truly the most important question to ask every day is: “Who do I choose to be?” and then take action to produce that vision into reality.

Follow these five thoughts to shed light on today’s circumstances:

Live in hope; not in fear. Those who make the decision to respond to life from a vision larger than today will achieve it. Opportunity driven people, rather than circumstance driven ones achieve significant, powerful lives and careers.

You’re it; don’t blame others. By taking charge of what you can, you will instantly and positively change how you feel about everything else in your life and how the world responds to you. It is an empowering lens to view the world.

Be solution driven; not stuck in the problem. In the midst of turmoil, we’re often overwhelmed by all the trouble surrounding us. That doesn’t solve anything. To mitigate current circumstances you must focus on solutions. Then don’t be surprised when one of those ideas leads you right to your desired future.

Be in action; others can’t rescue you. It is futile to wait for others to pick up the pieces—they’re probably too busy picking up their own pieces to be concerned with yours. The most dynamic future you can create is one that emerges out of your desires—not someone else’s.

Continue doing what works; even though it’s tough. You know in your heart what you need to be doing and gain confidence by getting back to basics, which opens your mind to new possibilities. Don’t stop just because you feel stuck by your current circumstances or you may lose the opportunity that will make the difference to your career.

Successful careers develop from the inside out. Without building the appropriate internal structure, you’re like a house of cards: only a breath away from disaster. No matter what your current situation or how good or bad the times, you are the owner of your career. Ultimately the choice is always yours. Don‘t allow circumstances to dictate your future. Be a person who stands secure in the midst of good times and bad, so ‘Who do you choose to be in the future?’ and ‘How do you choose to get there?’

At the age of 72, people often ask me for the secret to my ageless vitality. There is one activity that has been instrumental in rejuvenating my aliveness. Rolling and bobbling on different sized balls with a dynamic vocabulary of energizing breath, sound and movement never fails to unleash a virtual ‘fountain of youth.’

Ten minutes of vigorous bouncing balances the distribution of vital energy into all the different systems of our body. On the upward thrust of the bounce, trillions of cells are pitted against the earth’s gravitational pull. This means all our cells are aerated with heightened oxygen. In the downward pressure of the bounce, toxic waste is flushed out of the cells and circulation flows with increased vigor.

For those struggling with the ‘battle of the bulge,’ vigorously bouncing on the Ball stimulates massive circulation while raising metabolism.

To a child everything is new and interestingly wonderful, smile worthy.Futurehealth.org discusses the power and influence smiles have on your body and life. They state that if you were to raise the right corner of your mouth towards your cheek, (making a smiling gesture) almost magically a good feeling would start to kick in. Now raise the left corner of your mouth and the manufactured smile becomes a genuine smile. So, one way to feel better is by manufacturing a smile.
