Boston Strong Inspires the Power of Yes!

June 26th, 2013 by yesworldwide

by Samantha Bonavia Now here is an example of the Power of Yes at work:  One Fund Boston raises over $20 million from the sale of their “Boston Strong” T-shirts to help fund the recovery of the victims of Boston’s recent tragedy.  They never expected to raise this much money, but it just goes to show how a little effort can yield powerful results when your “yes” is aligned with the power of love and service.   Way to go!!

A Mind Of No

October 17th, 2011 by yesworldwide

People are telling me that when they read THE POWER OF YES the reason it helps them “jump consciousness” is that they start listening to the thoughts that run through their head all day long and face that they are creating a mind of no.  This book  helps you witness your thoughts and see if they make you feel better or worse.   Too many times we  think about what we “don’t want”– this is fear based thinking and creates a negative “internal dialogue.”  If you want to live in a YES world you need to create a mind of YES. Your mind is wired to create what it thinks about, so think about what you want, and let go of thoughts that focus on what you don’t want.  Your powerful mind can become a mind of YES and lead you into a YES world.  Change your thoughts and you will see that your powerful mind can easily become a mind of YES and lead you right into a YES world.

Tweets and Sour Moods

October 7th, 2011 by yesworldwide

“Two years of Twitter posts prove pithy for social scientists.  One discovery:  We wake up chirpy, then get grumpy.”

The Los Angeles Times Newspaper had an article this past week about Twitter and moods.  It was a fascinating article about a study by Cornell University, that researched for two years about the patterns of human moods and twitter.  They researched 2.4 million people around the world and concluded that people “woke up happy but that their mood deteriorates as the day progresses.”  The purpose of the study was intended to use Twitter to study behaviors, not emotions.

Of these patterns the positive moods and behaviors in the world were in the morning and at midnight.  That morning peek came later on the weekends, when people could relax and sleep in on their days off.   Also with a change in season moods improved as days lengthened and moods got worse as the days shorten in the fall and winter.

Overall, we wake up happy, so let’s keep this positive Yes mood and establish a daily routine that can remind us to stay chipper and content throughout the day.

“The Power of Yes” Book

October 6th, 2011 by yesworldwide

power-of-yes-front-book-coverThe latest news for Yes World Wide, I have written my brand new book The Power of Yes.

This book is an antidote to today’s pessimistic news, negative thoughts and feelings of insecurity. Everyone says “be positive:” THE POWER OF YES shows you how to do it. The human mind has a pronounced negative bias which makes negativity natural—whereas positivity has to be learned. This book is filled with simple, practical tools that explain how to use better feeling thoughts and positive actions to transform your life. As Brown says, “Each of us has two lives the one we’re given and the one we create. When you say “yes” to life, life says “yes” to you.”

The Power of Saying “Yes”

October 3rd, 2011 by yesworldwide

One of our bloggers sent us Gossip Girl Season Five, “Yes Then Zero” to tie into YES.    All they are really doing is saying that yes is a state of mind, and when an opportunity presents itself, take it.   Then that is the Power Of  “Yes.”  “Yes” moves things forward.

Serving Life Documentary: A Must See

August 5th, 2011 by yesworldwide

olive-003-mediumby, Kathy G. Segale

Reporting from the Pacific Northwest, Kathy G. Segale guides us to OWN Network for a sneak peek at a Documentary Film entitled “Serving Life” by Forest Whitaker

In this two hour Film we go behind the scenes into a Maximum Security prison
where a Hospice program is offered to dying inmates. Healthy men who are in for life with no chance of parole are nursing their dying inmates and being given an opportunity to give back.

I was in tears watching these hardened criminals lovingly caring for their dying fellow inmates.

Trained by Hospice to perform the daily acts of living such as bathing, and toileting their fellow inmates with life limiting illnesses changes these inmates lives significantly.
These are intimidate care giving activities, which is emotional for these men to do to one another. Some are accepting, some men, not so much.
Over time the love and friendship come together and these two criminals become bonded to each other and accept the care and love.

The Hospice trained inmates are able to give a gift of themselves and feel self-worth, some of them for the first time in their life. . The inmates feel that this is a way they can pay back to others for their wrongs.

Forest Whitaker said: If you allow people to nurture the light that is inside each one of us, that light can grow through compassion for others.

He says don’t give up on yourself, care for the people who are around you and see how you are touching their lives. A very inspiring story available on Own Network.

The YES Equation

July 7th, 2009 by yesworldwide

by Christen Brown

Consider the impact that words have on your emotional state. Since you think a word before you say it, you have an internal experience of each word you say. The word “yes” needs to be thought and spoken often because it activates positive power.

Life is set up to help you grow and saying “yes” does far more than affirm your position. “Yes” is the activation that gets your “mojo” working. Read More »

Our ancient ancestors trusted it. Native peoples revere it. The mysterious gift has always been with us, closer than breath and deeper than thought. But today, we often turn a cold shoulder.

I am talking about intuitive knowing, the inborn ability to have hunches, gut-feelings, inner warnings, lucky instincts, presentiments of the future, and senses beyond the five senses. Read More »

Positive Business

June 22nd, 2009 by yesworldwide

By Nancy Fredericks

Within chaos, opportunities abound. It’s tough times that truly define a person and this is certainly true in today’s business world.

You have two choices. You can choose to allow current circumstances to obstruct the possibility of ‘who you can be tomorrow;’ or you can choose to recognize and respond positively to the opportunities that exist even in the midst of turmoil. Our tomorrow rises out of the decisions, actions, and thoughts we have today. Read More »
